What Our Body is Made Of
However, it's extremely important to understand that there are:
Healthy fats (essential fatty acids/lipids/saturated), and unhealthy fats (hydrogenated/trans). Healthy sugars (glyco-/saccharides), and unhealthy sugars (refined/artificial). Healthy proteins (amino acids), and unhealthy proteins (altered by over processing/growth hormones/antibiotics). Healthy carbohydrates (complex/non-starchy), and unhealthy carbohydrates (simple/processed). Healthy cholesterol (HDL), and unhealthy cholesterol (LDL). Healthy vitamins (photosynthesized/carbon-bond/organic), and unhealthy vitamins (chemically made/synthetic/inorganic). Healthy minerals (organic), and unhealthy minerals (inorganic). Healthy salt (sea salt with minerals), and unhealthy salt (refined/table).
Our body and cells require all of the healthy ones in order to function normally, and in a healthy manner, while the unhealthy ones promote cellular stress and disease. In other words, the low fat, low sugar, low cholesterol, and low carb fad diets are all based on an incomplete understanding of nutrition and biology.
