Higher Truth

"No problem can be solved by the same kind of thinking that created it." - Albert Einstein

"No learning is acquired by anyone unless he wants to learn it, and believes in some way that he needs it." - A Course in Miracles

The problem with having opinions & beliefs is that nobody can know the truth, or the next level of truth, as long as they think they already know the truth.

Pro-life vs. Pro-choice: Who Cares?

With the understanding and recognition of reincarnation and the fact that we are not the body, or that Life is not confined to a body, the whole "pro-life vs. pro-choice" argument seems silly.

Nobody is ever born and nobody ever dies. Life/consciousness is neverendingly forever. By having an abortion, nobody is being harmed, nobody is losing anything and nobody is being denied of life. If consciousness doesn't enter that specific physical body, it'll simply reincarnate into a different one. No big deal. Life goes on, and it can't do anything but. The essence of Life itself is eternal. There was never a time that you weren't, and there will never be a time that you won't be.

However, nobody can really fully understand this unless they've had a "spiritual experience", out of body experience, past-life regression (hypnosis) session, or something else along these lines. And because relatively few people have had such experiences, the pro-life vs. pro-choice debate will go on and on and on... and on.

If you haven't had any such experience yourself, and you're curious about what is said here, a quick 30 second meditation session can verify this for a person. If you tell the mind to stop thinking, it starts right back up again all by itself. And if the mind is operating completely on it's own, which this simple experiment shows very clearly that it is, then you are the Silent Awareness that is watching the mind's thoughts. And if the mind isn't you, then all the physical actions that the body does, which are the direct result of the functioning mind, then none of the body's actions are "you" either. "You are not the doer of deeds" says the Hindu scriptures, the Tao Te Ching, and countless Zen Masters. Thus, you are not the body, and whether it lives or dies is ultimately irrelevant.

Here's a fun lyric from Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground...

I'm so darn glad he let me try it again
Cause my last time on earth I lived a whole world of sin
I'm so glad that I know more than I knew then
Gonna keep on tryin'
Till I reach the highest ground

No More Why's

I once posted on Twitter "Like a scientific experiment karma can be put to practice purposefully to see if it's true or not. Change yourself & you'll see."

Between free will, karma and reincarnation, the "why" of absolutely everything is explained. The question "why did this happen" no longer exists in one's consciousness because it's fully recognized, as a result of personal experience, that everything is the result of one's own past actions, thoughts, opinions, beliefs, perceptions, views, emotions and attitudes (which are all a choice), either in this physical life, or in past ones.

There's never anything or anybody else to blame for anything because the way "others" act towards you is a mirror of yourself. "They" are you. It's all you, all the time. The Allness of life is Self.

Beyond The Secret

The major underlying points to grasp in The Secret are that, first, unconditional happiness, gratitude, peace, acceptance and forgiveness must be chosen FIRST, and then the rest of one's life will reflect that perfectly. In fact, a person's circumstances and situations are already, and always, an absolutely perfect reflection of the attitudes, emotions, thoughts, beliefs, and choices of that individual. Second, a point which wasn't really even talked about, is that everything and everybody is interconnected. All is One. The law of attraction would not work if this wasn't true. Third, that the law of attraction, what goes around comes around, you reap what you sow, everything comes full circle, the ebb and flow, balance in the universe, or karma, is in effect 100% of the time. There can be no "cause" of anything. There are only effects and automatic consequences of what one is (choices, thought processes, feelings, actions). Picture yourself as a tiny magnet among countless others. Likes attract likes. Which means that there is no such thing as a co-incidence, accident, random event, miracle, fluke, luck, or chaos. The entire universe is basically an infinite electromagnetic field where everything is happening exactly as it needs to according to what we make ourselves to be. To put it simply, EVERYTHING is karma, and everything is happening spontaneously on its own as an automatic consequence. What you make yourself to be is a choice. What happens to you as a result of what you are, is not.

Next, if there's no "cause" of anything, then reincarnation explains perfectly why "bad" things happen to "good" people, with the science of cellular biology also coming to this realization in The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter & Miracles by cellular biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton, Ph.D. This book is solid science but it's written in a way that's perfectly accessible to the layman as well.

If we take Oneness to the next level, we come to understand that if you are connected to everything else, then you ARE Everything else. There is no "you", "me", "here", "there", "this" or "that" when All is One. There can be no "other". In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna refers to this as the "Self", as do many other advanced teachings. Others have called it God, Universal Mind, Universe, All That Is, Life, Existence, Collective Consciousness, Creative Intelligence, Source, Pure Awareness, Presence, Spirit, Nature, Tao, Buddha, Christ, Self, Love, Energy, Divinity, Reality, Truth, The Absolute, The Infinite, Intuition, etc. It's all one and the same thing, and it's only the limited concepts of the mind, and the identification of those automatic thoughts as being "truth" and/or "me", that makes us think otherwise. Words are limiting concepts that can't possibly fully describe that which is Absolute and beyond the limitations of words, conceptual thinking, and form, so it really doesn't matter what we call It.

"The ultimate Truth is beyond words. Doctrines are words. They're not the Way. The Way is wordless. Words are Illusions." - Bodhidharma, founder of Zen
